Distant Origin is a global clothing brand rooted in the idea that we’re all shaped by diverse experiences and cultures. Its unique story reflects the founders’ journey, merging global inspiration into every piece of athleisure wear, blending luxury with functionality.

Brand Strategy

The brand discovery process for Distant Origin was a challenge, given its intricate narrative and the global scope of its target market. Through close collaboration with the founders, who brought a wealth of experience and deep knowledge in both fashion and design, we thoroughly explored its positioning, striving to stand out globally.

After a series of meetings and brainstorming sessions, we successfully established a brand foundation that captured the essence of Distant Origin. This foundation set the stage for a compelling identity capable of competing on the international stage, balancing unique storytelling with a strong brand strategy.

Visual Identity

We started by creating mood boards exploring various visual directions. After narrowing down the best concepts, we crafted a unique graphic and visual style that reflects Distant Origin’s global aspirations, ensuring visual direction stands out in the crowded fashion industry.

Logotype

We crafted the logotype using the Supreme font, chosen for its confident, and premium feel. The font also adds a touch of luxury, reflecting the exclusive, high-quality nature of it’s products. At the heart of the logotype is the star, the most important element, symbolizing the brand’s concept of a distant origin.

Logomark

The logomark was the most time-intensive part of the project with multiple sketches, as we aimed to create something truly distinctive.

The Logotype consist of a closed-loop symbol that represents both ‘D’ for Distant and ‘O’ for Origin in a 3D form which adds depth, conveying the idea of distance, while the star at the center symbolizes an origin coming from afar, perfectly aligning with the brand’s name and narrative.

We enhanced the logomark by integrating the Distant Origin text into the symbol, to create a cohesive emblem that combines both the graphic and textual elements seamlessly.

Logo Units

We created both vertical and horizontal versions of the logo to ensure flexibility in various applications. This versatility allows the logo to be seamlessly integrated into different brand materials and collateral.

Color

We wanted a palette that was vibrant to give that empowering feel yet luxurious, which was a bit of a challenge, but we nailed it. The primary orange delivers a premium, high-end feel while also working perfectly as an accent. When paired with blue, it maintains that luxurious tone. We also included green, thinking ahead for sustainability initiatives.

Typography

After narrowing down several typography options, we chose Supreme as the primary font for its bold, empowering feel. Poppins was selected as body text, while Playfair Display & Nyght Serif were chosen as accent fonts to add a touch of luxury.

Brand Book And Guidelines

We put together a brand book that laid out everything on how to use Distant Origin’s identity to keep it consistent across all platforms. From logo use to color and typography, it made sure every detail was covered, keeping the brand’s message clear.

Web Design & Socials

We designed web and social media templates, giving the client a solid base for both marketing and UI/UX. It was exciting to see the visual identity come to life and work so well in practice.

Branding Collaterals

When it came to the brand materials, we wanted to ensure every item from business cards to packaging to feel like a seamless extension of Distant Origin’s identity. Crafting these pieces was a blast, and it was great to see how the design held up across different formats, bringing the brand’s vision to life in every detail.
